Earrings in School

Is it legal for a school to restrict the wearing of earrings by guys and not by girls.

You may have a gender-based discrimination claim. There have been, as you can imagine, numerous similar suits addressing disparate rules regulating haircuts, clothes, etc. I am not aware of any seminal case addressing jewelry or earings, however. It is a very interesting issue.

You might have a claim for discrimination based on gender.

That certainly would be the case in Illinois and probably in most other

states.
