Mechanics lien

My company Joe Smith plumbing LLC. is named as the subcontractor on my contract. I sign Joe Smith and date as the subcontractor.

I place a lien on the house I did work on as Joe Smith, as owner of Joe Smith plumbing LLC. in accordance w/article 22 of title 38 of colorado's revised statutes. The other party claims that my lien may not be valid because the contract is in the name of Joe Smith LLC. but the statement of lien states the person claiming the lien is Joe Smith. They claim that Joe Smith LLC. doesn't appear to be a seperate legal entity. I don't know this process very well and I don't know if I'm just being bulldogged to take a significantly lower settlement. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you

This really requires review of the contract and review of the lien statement. Without those it is really impossible to say if you did this incorrectly or not and what to do in response.

Contact an attorney to review. It would be pretty quick to figure this out with the documents at hand.
