Re: Statute of Limitations

Statutes of Limitations are not involved with gifts.

A gift, once made, can never be reversed. If it is the intent of the giver to fully transfer ownership at the time, s/he cannot legally change her mind and legally get the gift back. Sometimes social custom is different from the law, but the law says the engagement ring belongs to the woman even after the engagement is broken and the parties go their separate ways.

I think your ex is angry and vengeful over a number of real and imagined problems from your relationship, and is attempting to get back those gifts because he now has other thoughts on the matter.

Stand your ground, tell the truth at all times, and you will be OK.
