Once the case is filed within 18 months of the occurance date, the statute of limitations has been satisfied. There is a constitutional speedy trial issue, but that is not likely to be good because you failed to appear (I assume). there is likely not a warrant of any kind because it has been too long. Basically, it sounds like there is a record of a charge/arrest against you, but no conviction. That will remain on your record. If you were to try to clear up the conviction by coming back or having me contact the court and dealing with it, then we might be able to get it dismissed. If so, then we could file to seal the record so that only the police and courts can see that you were arrested.
