What is criminal mischief

I was charged with criminal mischief on aug. 4th and I am not sure what the charge is and what falls under criminal mishcief. I was drinking I coming to realize I have a drinking problem and I am seeking help threw aa and my probation. I have substance abuse problem and need help.

Criminal mischief is 18-4-501 - any person who knowingly damages the real or personal property of one or more other persons, including property owned jointly with another person or property owned by the person in which another person has a possessory or proprietary interest. The level of offense depends on the value of the thing damaged, under 500 is misdemeanor and over is a felony.
