Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

first offense misdeamenor2

I was wondering, about what the exact charges would be for a first time offender, who has a misdeamenor2 going onto their record. It was orginially a felony4, then was dropped. We have decided to go for the plea bargain so they don't change my charges again. Is this a smart idea. Also my charges are 45days jail max. and it is open. what does that mean exactly? then there were a few things that needed to follow. My main concern is the jail time. Would I be able to state I am in college and working to let me do weekenders, and do you think that they will give me any jail time at all, since this is my first offense and it is only a misdeamenor. Does going to school and having a job help my case! As well as the first offense.

Re: first offense misdeamenor2

An F4 has a maximum aggravated sentence of 16 YEARS in prison. A plea to an M2 can be good. However, your questions are best put to your attorney. If you do not have one, think about what life will be like in 2020. That's 16 years from now. Get a lawyer (not me) to help you.
