Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

Theft By Merchant

I recently was cited for Theft by Merchant. I will be going to court for this. I strongly believe this was a result of a side affect of medication although I understand I am still responisble. How should I plea in court. I have never been to court before and this is my first offense.
