Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

A cop pulls me over for suspicion of drunk driving on a very late snowy night.

I had not been drinking, I declined the breathalizer and took the blood test.

That was 4 months ago, I had been traveling and just returned to find a 'Warrent for your Arrest' letter.

I had missed the court date which I was told would be dropped if the blood test came back 0.00. Obviously I was at error.

1. Would they do screening for drugs along with the alcohol blood test?

2. How is it possible to get a copy of the blood test results?

If they suspect drugs, yes.

There are two ways. The easiest is via the discovery process from the DA's office since there is a case pending. You can also go to CDPHE in Denver (make an appointment, don't just show up) and get them.

Damon's right. The signature line for consent to draw blood also allows them to test for drugs. But, if there is nothing in the blood, you still probably need to show for court once or twice prior to its dismissal. This is just because it takes time for the results and for DAs to believe them.
