Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

DWAI Probation

I just started a 2 year probation for DWAI in Colorado. Am I confined to staying in Colorado or may I move to another state for employment and financial reasons?

Re: DWAI Probation

Depends on the county you were sentenced in and the terms of probation. Technically your probation officer should get permission from the state to which you are moving. Some counties enforce this requirement other do not.

Alternately you may be placed on unsupervised probation that requires you to provide proof of completion of probation requirements directly to the court.

Re: DWAI Probation

you may move, but first you must have permission from probation and the court - there is a provision in the statutes to waive alcohol classes if person lives out of state at time of sentencing - this may help???
