Legal Question in Education Law in Colorado

My child attends a public elementary school that is mostly affluent. He was placed into a small group/class that consisted of a handful of other children who have experienced divorce and it was designed to help them cope; however, he was made to attend without ever receiving permission from me. Is it legal to take a child out of homeroom and place a child in a group based on his parents' marital status without the permission of his parents?

Legal, yes. They should have probably asked first.

That being said, if you don't wnat your child in that class, ask the school to remove him.
