Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

Child Support reduced to Collection in Colorado

Child Support interest reduced to judgement in Colorado. Is this considered Child Support, can it be dismissed by Chapter 7. Does CO court have jurisdiction in TX? Can I be served to return to Colorado and or does Texas Attorney General accept judgements from other states?

Thank you for your time in this matter

Re: Child Support reduced to Collection in Colorado

Child support is not dischargeable in Ch. 7 and a judgment for child support arrears is child support. TX AG would need to obtain a judgment in TX based upon the CO judgment in order to enforce in TX.

Child Support obligations or the interest thereon are not dischargeable under chapter 7. Texas will enforce another states' judgment/order. Call me for more particulars.
