Re: filing for divorce

You can get a divorce and serve the father by publication (in the newspaper). However, you will not be able to get an order for child support without getting personal service on him. You will not be able to terminate his rights in hte divorce proceeding. However, if he has been out of touch for long enough, you may be able to have his rights terminated based upon abandonment. That would then enable your new person to adopt your child.
