Legal Question in Family Law in Colorado

How do we get married??

My fiance and I would like to get married quietly before the big wedding next year. The reason is mostly finacial , Taxes, health insurance, purchasing a home etc..

Is it possible to do this and still have a big ceremony. Also what would we need to do to make that happen. Would we just go to city hall? Do we have to have blood tests done in Colorado? Who should we call to get this arranged.

We would like to do it around the 21st of Oct because we both will not be on call. Is this possible..

We are both just alittle lost on where and who to go to, to make this all happen as smoothly as possible. Thank you for your help and time.

Re: How do we get married??

Actually, the clerk will allow you to sign and declare yourselves married without anyone else but witnesses.

You may obtain a license from the county clerk. A blood test is required. You may be quietly married by a preacher or a Justice of the Peace.

You may later re-affirm your vows in a public ceremony.
