protection from winning

how can a small town with limted money defend it self from baseless lawsuits. Even the cost of winning is to much if we get to many. Insures has informed us that the cost of defending wil result in higher premiens and possable canceltion.

It sounds like you are being given wrong

advice from your insurer, who received premiums

for agreeing to defend baseless (and valid) claims.

There are a number of risk management options, and

I suggest you speak to a knowledgeable insurance

broker. Higher deductibles, staff counsel, negotiated

panel counsel; these are some of the options.

Just because you are in a small town doesn't mean

you cannot use the services of a metropolitan

broker who knows about risks.
