Legal Question in Employment Law in Colorado

Hello;

My attorney has withdrawn at my request. I filed a "motion to continue" until I can find an attorney I can trust. The Magistrate Judge wants to have a phone conference (sent via a Minute Order) to discuss " in light of the Defendants" response, which I have not seen.

My question :

Why can the Judge and Defendants discuss a motion from the defendants which I have not even seen and determine a course of action?

Do I have to meet in a conference without an attorney?

Contact the defendants attorney and get a copy of the motion. As a matter of legal procedure they are required to give you a copy of any motion and must certify that it was sent. Until you get an attorney you must appear and participate in every hearing set by the court. You can ask them to wait until you have an attorney, but the court may deny this request.
