Legal Question in Employment Law in Colorado

Sick leave lost

I am pregnant and have accumulated a great deal of vacation and sick leave which I had arranged with my employer to use for maternity, a total of 4 months. My employer recently sold the business and the new owners are refusing to honor this agreement made with the previous owner. My question is "Does the new owner have a legal responsibility to honor my maternity leave as previously arranged? Do I have legal grounds to make them honor the agreement made with the previous employer?

To answer you question I would need a little more info. Was the agreement with the selling employer in writing? Is there an employee handbook and, if so, what does it say about accumulating leave? Did the new owner know of the arrangement with you? How many employees? If you wish to discuss please give some thought to the above and give me a call.
