Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Colorado

I signed a contract in Colorado for a very expensive condominium in Vail. I paid a very large deposit. I am now unable to finance the rest of the mortgage. Is there any way to break what they purport to be a "non-refundable deposit?"

I am currently negotiating a matter involving this exact problem. The answer is that it depends on a great deal of facts and the contract terms. You will need to have an attorney review the facts and documents to have an idea of your possible negotiating leverage. Depending on the closing timeframe, you should act quickly.
