Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Colorado

We had a tenant in our rental property who did not pay three months rent. We hired an attorney, took them to court and sued for rent, damages to rental, and attorney's fees. We were awarded $8500.00. How do we go about collecting the judgment?

You do not provide if this is a county or district court case.

As for self-help resources, the Colorado judicial branch website has a good general discussion of several ways to collect on the judgment here http://www.courts.state.co.us/Self_Help/Forms/PDF/jdf82.pdf. Also review their other forms on that site. This discussion is not the only means to try to collect and you should contact an attorney to discuss other ideas.

Good luck with the collection.
