Child left out of estate of dead father

My cousin Denny died suddenly last year, he was married to a woman I didnt know, she will not communicate with my niece Briana who is Dennys only child.Denny had money and property, is this legal.

The answer to your question depends upon whether your cousin left a will and, if so, whether the will mentioned that Briana was his child.
