Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado

Fathers will

My father passed away a few days after Christmas. His wife has been asking for my social number and other personal info.

She also is trying to get a copy of my deceased brothers death certificate. I want to know if we may have been mentioned in his will. How would I find out in Colorado?

Re: Fathers will

Ask your step-mother if she is appointed as the Personal Representative for your father's estate. Call the Court and see if his Will was filed and if the estate has been opened. The Court you would call is the District Court for the County where your father was living when he died.

As a final option, you can hire Colorado counsel to represent your interests. Choose someone who is experienced with estates.
