''issue by representation''

When a Colorado will states that property goes to a decedent's ''issue by representation'', what does that mean?

For example, if decedent has a living son and children from deceased daughter do the children share in the inheritance?

The children of the decedent's deceased daughter would split the share that would have gone to the daughter if she had survived.
