Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Colorado

rights of other family members to see the will

My father recently passed away. He left a will. One of his daughters is the executor of the will. She will not allow any other sibling or the widow to see the will.

What are our rights and how do we go about executing them?

Re: rights of other family members to see the will

You do have rights concerning the estate. That does not mean you have the right to inherit, but you do have certain rights.

You should consider consulting with an experienced Colorado attorney for further advice. You should consider filing a Demand for Notice in the estate administration proceeding. There are rules concerning these filings so you will need to be informed about those rules.

You may also consider contacting the clerk of the Court that has jurisdiction over your father's estate for additional information. They cannot provide you with legal advice, but may have other valuable information for you.
