Legal Question in Business Law in Connecticut

Collection Problem

I have a signed contract with a company that stated I was owed immediately available funds of $8,500 on the contract's 1 year anniversary. On the anniversary I received an email saying that the company was not in a financial position that allowed them to pay me at this time. They are not in BK and continue to operate as usual. Is there anything that I can do to collect? I have emailed the company if they can pay anything at this time and they said ''no''.

Re: Collection Problem

You need to sue them for breach of contract.

Re: Collection Problem

You can sue for breach of contract. You may also sue for fraud in the inducement, meaning that you were enticed into the contract by a future payment which was never an intended act of the company. Feel free to contact us 203.870.6700
