Contractor faulty construction. Can we sue?

We have water damage around our

door frame and inside house. After

further investigation, from outside

contractors and insurance adjustor,

the flashing was put on wrong from

original builder. Home owners won�t

cover damage and original liscensed

builder basically told us where to go.

Home was built in 2001. moved in 6

months after it was built. original

owners re-located. Can we sue the

original contractor?

First of all, I'm not so sure you don't have a claim against the homeowner's policy. Why wouldn't they cover it? How much is the cost of the damage?

I assume from your question that the original builder is the one who allegedly put the flashing on incorrectly? If that is so, why wasn't there damage early on?
