Legal Question in Consumer Law in Connecticut

We recently brought our truck to a repair shop for some service. The truck had to be towed to the shop. We called several times throughout the week and got voice mail, left messages and no return phone calls. They had the truck for 6 days and had not contacte us regarding the problem diagnosis or authorization for go ahead of service. After the nineth day we were finally able to get through to the shop, they told us that they ordered a part but man couldn't tell us what part it is. when we asked how much it would be, he stated ' I don't know, a couple hundred. We we finally went to get the truck it was in the same condition as when it was brought to the shop and had to be towed back home. The shop charged us $771.00 for parts and labor. They told us they hooked it to the computer and it needed a new cylinder head @ approx. $1000. more. When we got it home we did some investigating ourselves and found it to be a clogged catalytic converter. We have since filed complaints wuth the dealers and repairers division of motor vehicle and also BBB.

Dealers and repairers has told us that the shop is claiming to have a signed work order from us. It is a forgery seeing how we were never at this shop until the day we picked up the truck. The shop told D&R they are willing to give us $350.00 of the $771.00 back. we feel that they should reimburse more than that. Seeing how they did next to nothing on our truck! what do you think?

I think you should file a small claims action against the repair shop. On the date of the hearing bring all of your evidence and present it to the magistrate.
