Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Connecticut

i had some work done on my house last year the contractor told me that the work went over the price ha gave me. we sign and agreement that i would pay him 300.00 a month i told him that this would be hard for me i havent been able to send him anything in 2 months now he wants the full amount. i can pay him 100.00 a month. what can i do?

You have a number of options. You can file a bankruptcy to avoid the debt. You can let the contractor take you to court on a collection suit, breach of contract claim. you can wait and see what the contractor does. He may end up getting a judgment against you and attaching a lien to your house. You can probably negotiate with the contractor for another agreement provided you can make consistent good faith payments.
