Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut

The police showed up at my house in the middle of the night and asked to speak to my fiance. I told them he was not home even though he was. He was later arrested as a fugitive of justice and they have informed me I will be arrested for obstructing justice, even though they never told me he had a warrant they just told me they wanted to speak with him. How much trouble am I in? Can I fight it?

Whether you obstructed justice has nothing to do with whether the police had a warrant or whether they told you about it. You can fight the charge, but you should get a lawyer first. If you are arrested or charged and cannot afford a lawyer, you will be eligible for a public defender.
