Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

adopting my granddaughter

I live in connecticut. My daughter has a drug problem and dcf gave custody of her daughter to my other daughter. She now wants to adopt my grandchild but since we already have custody of her 2 sisters we would also like to be able to adopt her. Do we have any legal right to also petition the court to be able to adopt my granddaughter?

Re: adopting my granddaughter

Does your grandchild's biological mother agree?Does your other daughter agree? If everyone agrees, there should be no problem. Otherwise, you will have to petition the court. Nevertheless, you will need a court order to adopt.
