Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Child Support

My child is currently 5years old I provide most finacial care for him. I am currently a student and I temp from time to time. I have given my mother partial guardianship or power of attorney I should say to be able to get him medical attention when I am not there. He is on the state insurance and I had just recieved a bill to pay child support for a child that is in my care. I called to despute the sittuation and the rude social worker said to me that I can either pay the support or stop recieving medical care. She said it is my decission to go to school and it doesnt matter wither I am able to afford it or not what should I do.

Re: Child Support

I would need more information in order to give you an exact answer. However, if you provide care to your child, then you should not owe child support. If you need further help, you can email me at [email protected].
