Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Newly Wed and Disabled husband left and has spent all of disability back pay

I was deemed disabled Jan. 05 had $22,000. in back social security coming. Met my current husband at same time, wed 7/15/05. I gave my then fiance my back ckeck from SS totalling $22,000 and by the wedding date is was gone.I do have an itemized list which he wrote, at my insistance, of where the money went, mostly to his bills. My husband left me 10 days ago, won't speak to me.He is going to work his income $75,000. yearly, he works for Yale. My current income is $750. a month. I gave up my subsibized apartment(disabled housing unit) when we married, the waiting list is currently 3 years. We did write a pre-nuptual, but like a dummy I never had him sign it or made it legal. I trusted him. What do I do now?

You may be better off that you didn't sign a pre nup. At any rate, a court will make him pay back the $22,000 as part of a divorce judgment, I would think. Better start the divorce quickly, though. You can call me to discuss.
