Re: Paid family medical leave for CT employees

I am a Florida attorney and there are many CT state laws that I know nothing of or about. However, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a federal law that requires all employers of a certain size (over 50 employees) grant UNPAID medical leave to employees who have worked 1250 hours in the last 12 months to care for an ill parent, child or spouse. State laws can grant an employee additional rights and maybe CT law does. The FMLA only provides a baseline of minimum rights an employee is eligible for and, again, FMLA does not require any employer grant paid leave.
