Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Connecticut

Can my husband take my unemployment monies because we had a joint account together. I and my son have been living with my mom for two years and i supported my son except only when his dad took him for a couple of days. I'm getting about 5000.00 back on my income tax and he said that I should give him $2000.00 of it or else he would keep my unemployment monies, until it reached $2000.00 Dollars? What can I do?

How can he take your unemployment money unless you still have a joint account together? If you do have a joint account together and you put the money in there, then you are at his mercy.

Maybe you need to file for a legal separation or a divorce and get all this in writing and made a court order. Sounds like chaos to me.
