Legal Question in Health Care Law in Connecticut

A friend's husband is going into a nursing facility soon. Under Title 19 they will be taking his pension and social security. If he passes away before her, will she lose his pension and social security forever or will she be able to get it back again?

It depends on whether or not she is named as a beneficiary on his pension. If so and he passes before she does, once he passes, she may continue to collect his pension. She may also have some survivor rights with regard to social security. It would be in her best interests to consult with and attorney.
