Legal Question in Health Care Law in Connecticut

can i refuse to be contacted by phone or mail for adverse events filing?

A company (unknown what kind) is asking for my business address, name, and phone number concerning an adverse event that happened to my patient. Can I refuse to be contacted this way and just agree to be contacted through email or must I give them infromation?

Do not talk to anyone except through your med mal carrier or a private attorney you may decide to hire. In addition never give out any information even your address etc unless you have proof that whoever is asking has been retained by the patient. If this company refuses to disclose who they are you can probably ignore them. Once they disclose who they are and who they represent do nothing except give the information to your carrier and/or your private attorney and let them handle it.
