Legal Question in Immigration Law in Connecticut

I am in immigration proceedings. I want to leave on my own without having the government pay for the ticket. When can I get my passport back from the government? Can i just ask for it when I show up in Court? Thanks for all the help in advance.

No, you can't just ask for it. If you are eligible for 'voluntary departure' and the judge grants it, the yes, you might get your passport back after posting the bond, and be allowed to depart the USA on your own within a specified timeframe (usually, from 60 to max 120 days).
