Legal Question in Employment Law in Connecticut

Misleading information

I was offered a job by a company and i came in to speak with them. They gave me a rough outline of what the job would be, because they were still in the process of establishing the criteria of the job. I was told that the job would be temp to perm and that the chances it would become permanent was 90%. I was also told that if i took the job and when it became permanent, i would be available for a cash benefit. Either that or i can take their insurance. Just recently they offered me the permanent position, but in the paper work i noticed that there is now a condition to receive the cash benefits.

Re: Misleading information

There wasn't a question included in your message. I assume you want to know whether the employer may change the deal. The answer is that, without a written agreement setting forth the specifics of the deal or a written policy that rises to the level of a contract, the employer may change the terms of employment at will. Your option, as always, is to vote with your feet and leave.
