Legal Question in Personal Injury in Connecticut

Poisioned at work

After 4 years of tortue from the Workers Compensation insurance company, we are pursueing a third party suit for a chemical poisioning I substained at work leaving (besides on the loss of pay, benefits, out of work for year +) 20% damage to each lung. On 5 medications a day for life, and cost over life is approx. 600,000.00 went to mediation and they want to settle for 400,000.00 closing workers compensation and the third party, attorney gets 1/3, workers comp has a 100,000.00 lien. Not even leaving enough to cover meds for life. I feel the attorney is selling me out.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Re: Poisioned at work

To properly evaluate your case, further information would be required. For example, has the 3rd party accepted liability, are you continuing to receive weekly workers compensation benefits, is the workers compensation carrier willing to reduce their lien, etc. You also do not mention if you are on Social Security Disability (benefits may be offset) and whether Medicare has been contacted to see how much of your settlement will have to be set aside for future medical bills.

Please feel free to call me if you would like to discuss your situation further. (office: 800.856.6400, cell: 860.977.0660)
