Legal Question in Personal Injury in Connecticut

Slip and Fall while pregnant

A week ago I slipped and well in our condos laundry area. The room has a drain in the middle of the floor that needs to be walked over in order to access the machines. Drain constantly backs up and over flows on to the floor. I have notified super numerous times. Before I fell, there wasnt water on the floor, after I started the machine is when is water backed up. I didnt have a choice but to walk through it to leave the building. While walking thru, I fell and hit my backside on the ledge the dryers were on. I was 17 wks pregnant at the time. Went to ER, did fetal monitoring, baby checked out ok, but I am having serious issues with my hip, knee and back. I have had 3 pregnancies, all delivered full term and natural, now b/c of injuries, my Dr has mentioned the possibility of a C section 4 weeks early to avoid excess weight on my back, hip and knee. What should I do? I have not had xrays due to pregnancy, but clearly something is very wrong, as I have back spasms and trouble walking. I have to sleep in a chair to keep my legs from going numb. They offered 3 months rent @ 970 p/m- Help please!!

If you were injured by a dangerous condition on the property then the property owners are liable for your injuries. If the water was a problem even prior to the day you were injured and you notified them of the water, then you have a stronger case. Have you seen a Dr. for your back, hip and knee? If you need further help, you can always email me at [email protected].

Re: Slip and Fall while pregnant

I am sorry to hear that you are having these kinds of difficulties while pregnant.

You may have a very signicant case, especially if your obstretician relates a need for a C-section to your fall.

I would be very intestested in talking to you about your situation. We can meet in my Naugatuck office if you are able to travel or I can arrange to meet you in Bridgeport. Please call my office 860.236.9350 or my cell phone 860.977.0660 to set up a convenient time.
