Legal Question in Personal Injury in Connecticut

I am being sued

In Oct of 06 I got into a an accident with a person on motorcycle. The accident was my fault. I had 50,000 auto ins but they plantif wants 100,000. I have been working with lawyers through my ins company and they are trying to get him to settel he refuses. I am 21 years old I live on my own. I make $12.75 an hour. The case is most likely going to go to trail. I have nothing and they can take money from my pay if they win. What do I do I have nothing and can not afford to give them anything. How can I go about proving that I do not have anything so they can settle with my ins company. I need a good attorney that doesn't cost much and that I can pay on a payment plan.

Has the insurance company provided you with an attorney? That person should be working to protect you and your assets. Also, has the insurance company advised you that they are not willing to cover the claim?

Re: I am being sued

Attorney Adams- Berman asks a good question. Does your insurance accept the claim. Will they cover you. They may provide all the counsel you need. (Atty Adamucci as usual is mysterious in his answer which is no answer) You may be asked to fill out a financial affidavit which will attest to your wealth...(or lack thereof). It is likely that you rest withing the category of defendants that lawyers have called "judgment proof". Feel free to contact me to discuss at your leisure. In the worst case scenario that you need to retain a private attorney, I have worked out payment plans with clients before.
