Legal Question in Personal Injury in Connecticut

My wife and I live in a senior / handicapped housing apartment with our small dog. One of our neighbors across the street has a illegal, large pitbull mix dog who tries to go after our dog everytime he sees him. This dog has gotten free and ran over to us to bother our little dog 5 different times already. He has knocked me and my wife down 2 out of the five times. This last time the dog knocked me down as I saw him running over to me and my dog and I reached down to pick my dog up just as this big dog ran into me causing me to fall down and hit my right hip on the asphalt curb. I was in extreme pain and could not get up but was able to call my wife and tell her to call the police. The police came along with an ambulance and the dog warden. I ended up going to the hospital to be checked out. No broken bones but still in a lot of pain and may have to see an orthopedic surgeon. Can I or should I try to sue?

You can submit a claim through the dog owner's insurance carrier if s/he has insurance. You should first speak with an experienced CT dog bite lawyer (I realize this is not a bite case but the same statute will apply).
