Our mother's home was quitclaimed approximately 5 years ago to me (the daughter) but she has life use. What happens if she goes into a nursing home - can the home be sold?

They won't sell the house, but the life use has a monetary value = the fair rental value of the house per month x the number of months left in her actuarial life expectancy reduced to today's value. They will consider that an asset in determining when they will put her on Title XIX.
