Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

Sue me for lawyer's fees

Hi,

We bought a house and moved to CT in 1/1/2003. The previous owner filed a police report in 2002 against one of the neighbors who was building a garage in the front. The Zonning office sent him a notice of violation (in 2002). A public hearing was held in June 03 and they allowed him to use it. We decided to appeal to the superior court by ourseleves (no lawyer). The neighbor claims that this would cost him an additional 7K and said he will sue us for his lawyer's fees.

If he wins the case, can he sue us for his fees ?

Re: Sue me for lawyer's fees

I know of no provision in the law which would allow the neighbor to get his attorney fees from you (unless the court found your appeal completely frivolous, and even then, I don't think he can get the fees).
