Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Is it legal to produce small quantities (less than 250ml) of poisonous gas (specifically Hydrogen Chloride gas) in one's backyard in Connecticut? Say it is done on your own property that is NOT owned by a landlord. Solely your property. (Obviously not for menacing purposes, just for educational purposes)

Of course, I am aware that if someone did this and a neighbor had evidence of it causing harm to them, they could sue you, or you could get arrested, etc. I am wondering, if nobody is hurt and it is contained, is it legal for someone to do so?
