Legal Question in Workers Comp in Connecticut

Owner of place of employment let me go

I worked at a place where money was disappearingout of peoples drawers all the time. I hurt my back there while working. I was put on light duty and tried to get to therapy. I am going to therapy now.

One day the assistant manager left my drawer out in the open when it should have been in my register to take out to cash. When I did, it came up $146 short. The owner made the manager take my pay check and cash it and took the money out. I already wrote to the labor board about this.

He never checked the video's they have. I found out that I was fired or rather he said that I had no hours and take it from there. I feel I lost my job due to my back geting hurt there. He knows we are about to lose our apartment if I didn't keep working.

The stress is just oo much and the depression is the same. I cannot get another job until my back heals and cannot collect. I want to sue this man for what he has done. I'm 45 and don't want to live on the streets.Eviction provention here has not recieved their fundings yet.

You have a very complex problem here. You should get a lawyer to handle your Work Comp claim - the back injury. You may need another lawyer to handle your other problems. I'm not sure you are in a union (probably not). It appears that you do not have a lot of money for a lawyer so you should contact your local Legal Aid Bureau or you local bar association for help. Good Luck.
