Legal Question in Banking Law in Delaware

property left in repo vehicle

I recently had my car reppoed. I was informed by certified mail that I was to have 15 days from the date of the letter, it was dated on 8/21/06,to come up with the full ballance of the loan. After the maximum 15 days of holding it would either be sold at auction or sold to a private buyer. I still had property in the car at the time of repo. I called the tow company that actually came and did the repo today to see if I could come and recover my property out of the car. I was told that it was sent out of state to another company. I don't know when it actually was sent to the second party,(X)motors company, and that I had to call the bank who holds the loan to get there number so i could retrieve my property. today is 8/30/06, 9 days into the 15 that i was given in the letter and know one has my property. The towing company said they didnt clean the car out and (X) motors company, who hold the car now, say that it was cleaned out before they took possesion. Im not sure how to get my things back and if I don't do I get any kind of compensation? thank you for your help

Re: property left in repo vehicle

Have your attorney send a FAX or e-mail to the repo company (with a CC: to the loan co.) that you expect to have your personal property shipped to you pre-paid or made available in the county of the repo within 3 business days or you will sue for conversion.
