need info on h1b extension

hi

am in 3rd yr of my h1b

need to apply for my h1b extension

my passport expires on march 2009...

so if i apply for my h1b extension and if it gets approved, will the new i-94 be valid for three years or until the expiry of my passport

please suggest...
