Legal Question in Disability Law in District of Columbia

i have given a 2 week notice as my position/contract evolved to a point I have been commuting over 3 hours each way and have been expected to work evenings and weekends. I have been unable to care for my children and cannot find or afford a service to care for them 12-14 hours a day. my employer responded that i signed a contract that i would give a 90 day notice. i have accepted a position close to home and and $30k less than what I make just so that I can work and have some quality of life. if i leave in 2 weeks, is there anything the employer could do in future?

The contract that you signed holds the answer. Without the ability to review that contract, it would be impossible for any attorney to provide you with a proper answer. For instance, there may be monetary penalties if you leave without providing 90 days notice. There may also be non-compete language that prevents you from accepting another job without first providing the notice. Again, the contract holds the key.

If you would like assistance in reviewing the contract and discussing your options, I am happy to do so. I am located in Atlanta, but am licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and would be happy to assist you. Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like to discuss further. Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not establish an attorney-client relationship.*******
