Legal Question in Disability Law in District of Columbia

My 92 year old mother gets her cable service from Comcast and pays for it through her homeowners association. She is visually impaired and we have twice asked Comcast if they have a remote for the visually impaired as the pads on their remote are very small and hard to read. Comcast said no and stated that if we purchased one with larger pads at a store they could not guarantee it would work. Under ADA can we force Comcast to have remotes for the visually impaired as they watch TV and just need a remote with larger finger pads to be able to read station numbers, etc.

No. Comcast does not have to provide larger remotes. Why not try and buy one at the store and see if it works? If it doesn't, return the remote and get your money back -- that seems a little easier than bringing a law suit against a huge corporation like Comcast.
