Legal Question in Disability Law in District of Columbia

Employer demand IME in REasonable Accomodation Request

I applied for a reasonable accomodation in Jan. 2007, and have submitted numerous letters from my doctors. I also allowed the emp'r dr. to speak to my treating physicians, which he has done several times. The emp'r denied my requests based on the empr dr. misinterpreting ADA ''disabled person'' criteria. After several denials, my supervisor had my dr. answer her very extensive questions about my disability. My Dr. responded to her questions fully and completely. Now, the empr is threatening to deny my RA request (and to fire me) unless I undergo involuntary IME with 2 of their drs.

Re: Employer demand IME in REasonable Accomodation Request

It would seem advisable for you to submit to the employers demands for further medical evaluation, but, if after such evaluations are complete, you're formally denied your request for reasonable accommodation, then you could file your complaint with the EEOC.
