Legal Question in Administrative Law in District of Columbia

How to find out if i was included in my deceased grandmothers will!

My grandmother passed away january 2001 and im pretty sure she had a will and me and my sister were included she had told my mom that she was leaving us money in her will..but a few years passes and i haven't got a copy of the will to settle this. My father just recently passed and he also informed me that she had left us money and we should go and get it the question is how do we go about doing this when everyone in the family seems to have amnesia all of a sudden?

Go down to the circuit court clerk's office in the locality where these folks died and tell one of the clerks in the probate division that you would like to inspect the probate files of these deceased which may hopefully contain copies of the wills which you've apparently been deprived of viewing for the past eight years or so.
